
The Association of Beach and Shag Club D.J.'s
The Deejay Hall of Fame was founded by Harold Bessent and Gary Bass and is now solely owned by Fat Harold’s Beach Club located in North Myrtle Beach, SC. It consists of regular and honorary members and is physically located at Fat Harold's Beach Club in North Myrtle Beach, S.C. Once a year, the living regular Hall of Fame members vote to elect one or more members to the regular and honorary Hall of Fame. Inductions are then held at Fat Harold's Beach Club during Deejay Throwdown in March. The criteria for nomination to the regular and honorary Deejay Hall of Fame is as follows.”

DJ HALL OF FAME CRITERIA

REGULAR MEMBERSHIP

Nominees must be a member-in-good standing of the Association of Beach and Shag Club DJs including a minimum of three current years active in the Association and a minimum play time of twenty full years DJing at Beach and Shag functions.

Nominees should be of reputable character and have conducted him/herself in a professional manner.

Nominees must have made some contribution to the promotion of Beach and Shag Music.

Nominees should have made some meaningful contribution to society in general, outside of their DJ contributions.

No full-time radio jocks are to be considered unless bookings are played on an individual basis

A nomination for the DJ Hall Of Fame must be submitted by an HOF member only. All nominations shall be submitted in writing, dated, and then sent to a HOF Chairman. The nomination must be accompanied by a qualification list and a complete current biography. The nominating HOF member shall be responsible for vetting the nominee’s paperwork. Once the requirements are in order, the nominee’s paperwork shall be submitted to the HOF Advisory Board for final approval.
